New Year… New Hope… New Expectations

“You have all that you require to be victorious within you..” I was really amazed by this statement when i came across it in Joel Osteen‘s book Becoming a Better You. It holds such truth that really inspires me and gives me light as this new year unfolds. It reminds me of Moses who was asked by God “What [is] that in thine hand?” What do you have? God will use the little that you have.. what you have in your capacity.. to raise you and to lift you. It also reminds me of the occasion in the bible Jesus fed 5,000 men (beside women and children) with only what was there; five loaves and two fishes! You have what it takes within you and i believe a journey of a thousand miles does start with one step. But by embarking on this journey with such an optimistic attitude, you need to walk with God every single way. He has to be at the center of every dream, plan, decision and direction you embark on and not at the periphery where in most cases we do place Him. We need Him and that is not a negotiation.

DON’T JUST DREAM

Once again I am dreaming… I’m dreaming of all the wonderful possibilities my future can be. I’m dreaming of great achievements am yet to advance towards. I am dreaming of a better tomorrow. Who I am now definitely has nothing to do with it all. In a way it defines it, Imagebut as a past to be worked on and not necessarily the eventual big picture hidden in the years ahead. Yes. The mountain within my sight now will be but an ant hill. Crushed and trampled on with a faith ever so increasingly growing in depth and understanding as I read through the Holy Book and committedly pray unceasingly. Always yearning for more, to know more…

Faith can move mountains I do not just say it because I’ve heard it repeatedly spoken out by a majority. Faith can indeed move mountains. In Hebrew 11:1 the Bible describes it as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

I realize that for most of us, the failure of realizing our dreams is drawn on fear. Fear of what people will think, fear of embarrassment, fear of failure itself, fear to incur great loses, loosing on so much more. Point is, there is always that element of fear lurking somewhere or feelings of incapability and incompetence among others. But the way I see it, such should never define that dream that we have. That unexploited ability of greatness buried deep within us.

Just before I left for home today, someone made a remark that really got me thinking. “If you do not work towards your dream, someone will hire you to help them work towards theirs”. Helping out aint wrong, but I’d rather be the brave one in the question, determined enough to live my dream and make it an actual reality. Not just a dream. All in all, remember this;

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
